"We’re thrilled to welcome Andrea to our Board of Directors," said Michelle N. Hantman, President and CEO of United Way of Greater New Bedford. "From her early days as a Loaned Executive to her current involvement as a Women United leader, Andrea has been a steadfast champion of United Way. She’s supported countless events and initiatives over the years, both personally and professionally, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her join us in this new leadership capacity."
At BankFive, she leads a dynamic team dedicated to enhancing the bank’s visibility, strengthening community partnerships, and executing high-impact campaigns that align with both business goals and civic priorities. Her appointment reflects a long-standing commitment to giving back and advancing the Greater New Bedford community.
“I’m honored to join the Board of United Way of Greater New Bedford and to contribute to an organization that plays such a vital role in supporting our local community,” said Andrea Rodrigues. “At BankFive, we have a long history of investing in initiatives that make a difference locally, and I’m proud to continue that tradition by supporting the important work United Way does every day.”
A cornerstone of Andrea’s purpose-driven career is her long-standing partnership with the United Way of Greater New Bedford. Her involvement began in 2009 as a Loaned Executive, and she has remained an active volunteer ever since, serving on the Campaign Cabinet and Women United, and contributing to numerous community initiatives. Andrea’s hands-on service includes volunteering with the Hunger Heroes initiative, Mobile Market, Baby Bundles, Community Baby Shower, and presenting at Financial Wellness for Women workshops. Whether supporting young families, promoting financial literacy, or advocating for early childhood development, Andrea has been a consistent and visible champion for positive change throughout the South Coast region.
“Andrea will bring the same passion for community engagement to the United Way Board that she brings to BankFive every day,” said Anne Tangen, President and CEO of BankFive. “Her ability to connect with people and drive initiatives that make a real difference is essential to BankFive’s mission to support the communities we serve on the South Coast.”
Her community leadership extends even further across the South Coast. She serves as a Corporator of the SouthCoast Community Foundation and currently sits on its Scholarship Committee, having previously served on the Grants Distribution and Arts & Culture committees. Andrea has also served on the boards of Leadership SouthCoast and the UMass Dartmouth Center for Marketing Research, and is a member of the Steering Committee for People Incorporated’s Investing Together Capital Campaign, which is helping to fund a new preschool facility in Fall River.
