Brad Rapoza’s parents, Ron and Linda Rapoza, opened Somerset Glass Company in 1975. Today, the company has flourished into a thriving second-generation family business run by Brad, his brother Matthew and sister-in-law, Katelyn. Located on County Street in Somerset, in the same building the family purchased in the early 1980s, Somerset Glass serves both commercial and residential clients. Their residential work primarily serves the local SouthCoast area, while their commercial projects extend across a broader region, from Boston to Worcester, down to Rhode Island and east to Cape Cod. They serve a variety of businesses, including restaurants, hardware stores, and office buildings.
Under the second generation’s leadership, Somerset Glass has expanded its capabilities by growing the team and taking on larger projects. While much of the day-to-day management falls to Brad, Matthew and Katelyn, his father remains involved as needed, and his mother still handles the insurance side of the business. "My parents always wanted to see Somerset Glass continue into the next generation. I first came in when I got out of school, then my brother joined me five years later. Once we were both involved, we had the potential to grow." Their commercial services now include designing and installing storefronts, office partitions, intricate railing glass, and more.
Although Somerset Glass has grown immensely over the years, Brad says their roots are planted in the smaller residential projects that got them to where they are today. Whether it be replacing home windows or installing modern shower stalls and mirrors, Somerset Glass never loses sight of where they came from.

Looking ahead, Somerset Glass is content with its current trajectory. "Right now, the business is pretty much where we want it," Brad says. "We’re able to meet our timeframes and produce quality work at a fair cost."
