What began with small projects and a vision for independence has grown into D2W Construction, a newly established business that is already making an impact across the South Coast. Owned and operated by Dominique Dossantos, the company specializes in interior work such as bathroom and kitchen remodels, as well as full-home renovations. Based in New Bedford, D2W serves clients in Massachusetts, primarily in the greater New Bedford and Brockton areas. D2W may be a newer company, but Dominique has years of experience in the construction industry. After graduating high school, he spent seven years in a local labor union gaining hands-on experience. During that time, he also earned his contractor’s license and began taking on side projects, gradually laying the groundwork for what would become D2W.
Dominique’s experience in the union ultimately reinforced his decision to branch out on his own. Though he was advancing toward a foreman role, he realized he wanted to set himself up for larger opportunities. “I knew I had more potential,” Dominique reflects. “I always had the dream of working for myself, and there’s no limit to what you can do when it’s your own business.”

Since embarking on his journey as a small business owner, Dominique has seen steady growth with D2W, fueled largely by word-of-mouth referrals and strong relationships. The business operates with a flexible team structure, with Dominique managing one full-time employee and bringing on additional workers when needed. Dominique oversees all aspects of each job, from sourcing materials and preparing job sites to coordinating crews, communicating with clients, and securing projects.
Dominique credits his early success to strong communication and a deep dedication to customer satisfaction. “I always make sure the job ends right,” he says. “Even if things don’t go as planned, I go back, fix it, and make sure the client is happy.”
The business also benefits from a strong network, including real estate and construction connections from Dominique’s brothers. This has led to new opportunities and collaborations, positioning D2W for future success.
What continues to drive Dominique is not only the independence of business ownership, but also the ability to create something from the ground up. “I love building something from nothing and then stepping back and seeing what you’ve created,” he says. “And when the client is happy, that’s the best part.”

As a long-time BankFive customer, Dominique has a trusted banking relationship both personally and on the business side. “BankFive has been great to work with,” he shares. “Anytime I need something or have a question, I can speak to someone directly. They make it easy.”
Dominique has a long-term vision of growth for D2W, with a goal of moving into new construction and larger-scale projects. He plans to expand his team with a focus on hiring locally and creating opportunities for individuals who may not have access to traditional union pathways. “There are a lot of hardworking people who just need an opening,” he says.
Dominique’s mindset is to keep pushing forward and striving for more. “Success to me is just the next step,” he says. “There’s always another level to reach.” BankFive is proud to support D2W and its future success, and stands behind Dominique’s vision of building a business that inspires and delivers lasting results.
